Price action + fundamentals. You do not try to be faster than bots in microseconds. You look for situations where large players are forced to trade unfavourably, or where the market reacts inefficiently to information.
Forced flow of large players
A producer or industrial consumer is obliged to buy or sell a certain volume. They will do it even after a strong price move.
A trader can position with or against this flow once its nature is understood.
Mistakes of large companies
Large players sometimes mis-forecast or react with a delay. This creates windows.
Event-driven (football etc.)
Major matches, concerts, abnormal regional demand → change in grid load. You can trade the effect on electricity price without placing any sports bets.
Mean-reversion after extreme moves
After strong spikes (especially weather-related) price often reverts.
